I’ve been doing a lot of site maintenance lately. I’m adding new tags/categories to all of the posts: MUSIC, METAL, HEAVY METAL, and HARD ROCK. From now on, when I publish a new post, it will have all four of these tags/categories as well as it’s specially designated one (Album Reviews, Now Playing, Wanted, etc.). I’m adding these tags because I want to generate more readers and comments.

You may also notice that a couple of tags/categories have changed:

• REISSUE REPORT is gone and the posts are now under METAL NEWS & COMMENTARY
• BOUGHT & SOLD has been changed to CD SCAVENGER HUNT
• CD & DVD COLLECTION has been changed to MY CD & DVD COLLECTION

I realize this is a little picky but I wanted to streamline a couple of categories and rename a couple to reflect what they really are about.

I’m doing a bit of cleaning up around the site, as well as, messing with different WordPress themes. Things may look different depending on the day but the content will remain the same.

I’m getting a higher volume of visits since I posted the Gene Simmons facelift picture  so i hope some of you have a look around.

Today begins Quiet Riot Week. I will be reviewing at least one album a day, posting some Quiet Riot memories, and their significance on the 1980s Hard Rock scene.

To make searching the Album Reviews a little easier, I put a new Page up: Album Review Index. All the reviews are alphabetical by band and are directly linked.

Doing a little housecleaning here: I’ve moved the Buckcherry album reviews to the Career Reviews section, fixed a few category glitches, and I deleted all the NFL Football posts. My reasoning for deleting the NFL posts was to keep this strictly a Music blog.

I’m in the middle of editing an Album Review Index page. My plan is to have all the album reviews listed in alphabetical order, links attached. Makes it easier to search. Readers will be able to read the album reviews as they were posted by clicking the Album Review category in the sidebar.

I’ve also submitted the site for membership in the 9 Rules community. Not sure if I will get in, the competition is stiff, many excellent sites have already been added from the 1100+ submissions. Head on over to 9 Rules to check out some truly entertaining, well-written, and informative blogs.

I’m in the process of writing that long overdue Quiet Riot Career Review but it is taking a long time because I haven’t given some of the albums many spins over the last few years.

I’m also starting to replace the pictures that are missing from the posts from my days on Blogger. I transferred here to WordPress on June 14th so I have half a year to do.

The Black Sabbath reviews for Cross Purposes and Forbidden are still in the works, they are stuck in rotation on the stereo.

Upcoming album reviews include: the new Quiet Riot, Krokus, Hammerfall, Angra, and Taz Taylor.

I’ve started a new feature here called: Career Review…..

Basically, I’m going to listen to a band’s full discography, in order, and then write an overview of the band’s career, each album, and my own opinions/thoughts/memories. It’s like a big Album Review post I guess.

I’m starting with Def Leppard as I am seeing them in concert on Saturday 9/23. I’d like to do one band per month if possible and break it up into mulitple parts. Def Leppard is a two-part feature…..easy enough. It’s going to suck when I try to discuss KISS, Priest, or Maiden with those big album catalogues!

I’m leaning towards Quiet Riot for October but I will take any suggestions. I’m hoping that this new column will generate some major dialogue among the readers.
