I have to say, coming from that 80's hair rock craze, though having a much broader spectrum of music that I really love, I was psyched to see Twisted Sister and so extremely disappointed at the far reach of yesteryear performances. It was quite Sad.

The very first band that opened I had never heard before and thought they were very talented and really got into them. I wish they had played more. Woodland Creatures gave a great performance and aren't really rap. It's a mixed fusion of hard/classic rock styles, funk and hip hop, with newer grunge rock like LimpBizkit (well new to me, cuz I'm an old bitch). The beat was hot, the performance was great, it's just hard to make out what they are saying.

I honestly have hardtime listening to metal and heavy crazy rock (that screaming shit) but supported the band nonetheless. I think the mixture of bands or music styles just didn't really jive together real good. But you really need to LISTEN with an open mind to tone, beat, style, etc.

I hate it when people think a band is great cuz they play the songs that they love to hear even if they are out of key, crazy feedback, no real beat just bullshit karaoke, it's just ridiculous.

MY WHOLE POINT OF MY COMMENTS ABOUT (THE COMMENTS MORE THAN THE REVIEW) WAS KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! TO SAY SOMEONE WAS OUT OF TUNE , WHEN I CAN PERSONALY TELL YOU THEY WERE NOT, OR THEY HATE RAP SO IT SUCKS IS WRONG. IF YOU WANT TO HEAR WHAT A BAND LIKE CHAINDRIVE SOUNDS LIKE EVERY NIGHT LAURJOHN2 LET ME KNOW THERE ARE VERYFEW PEOPLE WHO WOULD SAY THEY YOU ARE VERY WRONG ABOUT YOUR COMMENT. ALSO FOR ANYONE WHO KNOWS THE MUSIC INDUSTRY OPENING BANDS NEVER ARE MADE TO SOUND AS GOOD AS THE HEADLINING ACT. EVER PERIOD. THATS THE TRUEST POINT I CAN TELL YOU. AND I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE AN OPINION JUST BE MORE INTELLIGENT ABOUT IT.

Isn't that the whole point of reviewing a CD or a concert: to review it from your point of view? I was at KISS back in October and I read glowing reviews later and ones that said the band sucked.....that doesn't mean the band didn't actually give an effort in their performance. Like I said in my comment above, I give all the credit in the world to anyone who has the talent and balls to get up in front of an audience and perform. Obviously they have some sort of talent but it is up to the audience, rather the individual, to decide for themselves if the performance was good and that is based on personal preference. I didn't dig Woodland Creatures, I hate rap music.....fine. There were obviously people there who did but there were also a lot of people who didn't. I talked to plenty of people during and after the show and they had similar opinions.

I'm going to assume that you worked this particular show and are not happy that I gave a somewhat negative review of 2 of the opening bands. If you can't take the criticism from one Metal fan how would it be if you saw more reviews like this? I stand by my review because it is my interpretation of what I saw.....believe me, if Twisted Sister put on a bad show, I would write it.

I THINK THAT MOST OF YOU WHO ARE GIVING YOUR OPINIONS ON THE OPENING BANDS ARE DOING IT ON YOUR TASTE NOT BYE THE TALENT OF WHAT THEY WERE PLAYING. IF YOU WANT TO GIVE YOUR OPINION DO IT BYE ACTUALY LISTENING TO THEM PLAY, NOT BYE THE MUSIC (YOU LIKE). I AM NOT A HUGE FAN OF SOME TYPES OF MUSIC THAT WAS PLAYED THAT NIGHT BUT I WILL TELL YOU THAT THEIR WAS ALOT OF TALENT ON THE STAGE IN EVERY BAND. IF YOU CANT SEE THAT , EXCUSE ME HEAR THAT THEN YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMMENT ON THAT. IF YOU DONT THINK I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT THEN YOU DONT KNOW ME OR WHAT IM ABOUT. I WORK IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS AND DO ABOUT 200-250 SHOWS A YEAR FOR QUIT A FEW YEARS NOW. AND HAVE WORKED WITH SOME OF THE MOST TALENTED BANDS IN THE STATE! IF YOU DONT WALK IN THE SHOES DONT COMMENT ON THEM.

Sorry, don't smoke.

Having never seen Chain Drive I thought they were good. Are they the next big Hard Rock band? No.....but they had songs that sounded decent and was more aligned with the type of fan that grew up with Twisted Sister.

Woodland Creatures? I hate Rap too and I couldn't get into their set at all. It's Rap! The only thing entertaining about their set was the shorter rapper with the shaved head dancing. I didn't say their performance was bad, I said I didn't get into it, many people in my section didn't get into it, and they seemed out of their normal element. I don't equate Twisted Sister with Rap music.

Let me say this.....

I give all the credit in the world to any artist/band that has the talent and guts to get up on stage and play to an audience no matter how big or small. I am not musically inclined like that so I think it's great that these bands got to open for TS. If someone like yourself got into one of these bands.....great. You liked Woodland Creatures, I likes Chain Drive.....its all a matter of opinion and preference.

Don't know what the reviewer was smoking but chaindrive was a bit off. People in my section were talking about it. I can't place my finger on it, but tuning instruments and using less cowbell might help. Woodland Creatures was the only opener that was any good, and i hate rap. I was so impressed with their set, i bought 2 of their CDs. Crowd seemed to get into them and were definately loudest for them.

Twisted Sister was amazing. well worth the time, money and sitting thru the opening acts.
