Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers done touring?

Read about it here…..

If Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are shutting down the live gigs after 30 years together, that would be a shame. Granted, after 30 years, I’m sure the road takes it’s toll. Looks like a new album, a documentary on the band, and a tour will happen this Summer. Looks like we have to catch the band before they stop.

I’ve seen the band twice:

1. One of the best shows I ever saw was on the Wildflowers tour. A brilliant 3 hour show!

2. One of the WORST shows I’ve ever seen was on the Echo tour with Jackson Browne opening. All I remember was a cold spring drizzle on the lawn at the Tweeter Center (Mansfield, MA) and being bored to death by Jackson Browne…..add an hour set change…..and a sub-par 2 hour Petty set = bad concert experience. The band was not at their best that night.

I’ll go to the show if the tix are decently priced. If I have to pay over $50 for a seat under the roof, I might forget it.

One of the best NWOBHM debuts, IMO. Satan is one of those bands that I think didn’t get their just due. I believe it had to due with the name of the band and the album artwork because this band isn’t about “Satan”. Vocalist Brian Ross left the band to form Blitzkrieg and the rest of the guys changed the name to Blind Fury with new singer Lou Taylor. The Satan moniker came back and was changed again after 1 album to Pariah.

Did you get all that? Confused?

I’ve been after this CD for quite some time. Saw it in the local shop for $15 back around the album’s CD release but I passed. Never saw another copy. The prices on Ebay vary: $75+ for the Japanese issue – $30+ for this issue. If you like Traditional Metal from the early 80s/NWOBHM, pick this up.

Fave tracks here: All (this is a classic album)

Current playlist

I’ve been listening to a ton of albums while I’ve been cataloging my CD Collection.

Here’s the latest list:

Queensryche – Operation: Mindcrime
Queensryche – Operation: Mindcrime II
Lacuna Coil – Karmacode
Accept – Balls To The Wall
Kick Axe – Vices
Angel Witch – s/t
Edguy – Rocket Ride
Dokken – Shadowlife (I had to revisit this to see if it was as bad as I remembered.)
KISS – Creatures Of The Night
Judas Priest – Sin After Sin
Satan – Court In The Act

I’ve been giving serious time to both Mindcrime’s to compare them, #2 isn’t that bad but it’s not the classic the 1st one is.

I hate the Post Office…..

In Japan, the Saxon remasters have been reissued and HMV Japan had the best price.

So I waited a couple of weeks for some extra cash and I placed the order: 1st six Saxon albums remastered w/Express shipping = $120. Delivery takes a week, no problem.

A week comes and goes…..nothing. I get a small card inside my door last Wednesday that said “delivery attempted, please fill out card with delivery instructions”. So I do.

Next day…..nothing. Friday…..nothing. I see my postman Friday afternoon and ask about the package, he says I have to pick it up. I hit the PO just before closing that night…..not there, told to check Saturday AM.

I’m 1st in line at 8am Saturday at the PO…..nothing. I’m told I have to fill out a claim for the package, etc, etc. So I give my wife a call at the house to tell her I might be a few minutes filling out forms…..guess what is on the front porch?
